Access: The Junior section is for registered users only. Please contact a Junior Race Official for access information. About Us: WHO ARE WE? The Junior Race Section (JRS) exists to deliver the following primary aims: To administer and facilitate both training and racing opportunities for junior members of Torquay Alpine Ski Club (TASC), who are selected for the Junior Race Squad. This excludes the delivery of coaching itself, which is provided by the main club (TASC) coaches. To support parents of junior racers by co-ordinating advice and opportunities for parents to share resources. As a secondary aim, the JRS aims to promote opportunities for Junior Racers to be involved in the wider main club. In particular, Junior Racers are encouraged to participate with the main club as instructors when old enough. MEMBERSHIP Places at training are limited and the JRS aims to maximise the benefit of those places by overseeing the management of JRS membership. JRS Membership JRS may be offered to juniors who show the necessary aptitude during lessons with the main club (TASC), group lessons (eg schools) or other TASC events. Other individuals may be considered following an assessment by the chief JRS coach. At present there is no charge for membership of the JRS but members are expected to maintain their membership by regular attendance at JRS club training night (currently Monday), except in exceptional circumstances. Training with other trainers or training schools in addition to attendance on JRS club training night is permitted, provided the racer continues to nominate TASC as their home club in competitions. |
